Effective October 1, 2023, CS/SB 170 has been enacted, focusing on the establishment and contestation of local ordinances. This legislation introduces enhanced procedures for local governments when enacting ordinances and grants additional rights to parties contesting these ordinances. Notably, the bill mandates that municipalities prepare a "business impact estimate" prior to ordinance adoption, with specified details to be disclosed on the local government’s website. This estimate must encompass the ordinance's objectives, projected economic implications for businesses, and associated compliance expenses.
On September 19, 2023, the City of Mulberry City Commission passed resolution RES-2023-16, adopting the Business Impact Statement Estimate Policy.
Business Impact Statement Estimate disclosures will be posted on the City Clerk's page on the City of Mulberry website.
